Installing game software

I just installed ubunto 5.04 for intel. I tried several times to installl game software and had no luck. I tried to install deer avenger 4 and could not figure out how to install. I got to the add/remove window, but nothing I clicked led me to install it. I tried other games and I just got frustrated. I also tried to adjust the resolution because the windows are too big and I can't always see the tabs, but it only has 1 setting. I am using a 1999 Pionex with intell pent. 2 chip.

It sounds like your trying to install games made to install on windows.
So assuming that, you will need a windows emulator thing, like WINE (http://www.winehq.com/site/download-deb)
Theres also one called cedaga or something, but you will need something like that.

Avenger 4 is a windows game, you might try wine to get it to work though there isn't a guarentee that it will work or work optimal.

By the way, any reason you're using ubuntu 5.04 and not a newer version like 5.10 (6.04 will be released to April)
