Using the Gnome Desktop with Ubuntu, I've noticed an odd behavior with Firefox. If I have "Visual Effects" set to None, then opening multiple Firefox windows causes them to be staggered on the screen, like playing cards in a hand. This is nice. If I set the effects to Normal or Extra, all Firefox windows open in the same location on the far right side of the screen. This is a PITA!
This has been the behavior with all versions of Ubuntu since at least 8.04 through the current 9.10, with their various matching versions of Gnome.
Is there a config setting in Gnome that will allow me to use the higher effects choices, but still et me keep the windows staggered?
