View Full Version : how to find this thread again

At first I was happy to see so much life here in this forum. I posted a couple questions that were appropriate to my noobie status on ubuntu. The problem is that in about an hour, there are four pages of threads posted, and mine have become a needle in a haystack.
I think it's hugely disrespectful to ask a question and then not track down the answers. So how does a person find a trail back to questions he has asked? Can I alter my settings on notifications so that replies are funneled to me in a more direct manner?

On the main page of the forum, click Search then select Find All Your Threads, or Find All Your Posts. See the screenshot.

abqhandyman: I think you want to go over to your control panel ("User CP" in the top left), go to "edit options" in the left menu under "Settings and Options", and scroll down slightly until you see a small box labeled "Default Thread Subscription Mode". Set that as you wish; I have "Instant Email Notification", which means that as soon as anyone replies to a thread I've contributed to, the thing emails me with the reply and an excerpt of the first post I haven't read yet.
Have fun exploring!
Peace (with ubuntu),

Alright, I set it to instant e-mail notification. If that gets to be too much, then I'll ask fewer questions. Thx all for responses.
