I know 'Feedback' forums are usually used for complaining, but for my first post I thought I would go against the grain. :D

I just want express a big Thank You to this community as a whole. You already answered SO MANY questions for me.

On Friday, I had a look at the Ubuntu demo and lasted a whole 3 minutes before finding myself installing within my XP system. (Is 'XP' considered swearing here? lol)

I've since wiped XP (there I go again!) and am living with a native Ubuntu install. First *nix installation I've ever had, although I have dabbled bit in the past.

So... I would also like to thank everyone in advance for the bombardment of newbie questions about to come your way. ;)

(Mods: Sorry if this is inappropriate for this area. Feel free to move if need be.)

Starlab, hope you have a great experience with Ubuntu. Remember, the other alternative doesn't have to be Windows, there are other Linux distros if you don't like Ubuntu either.

Thanks everyone. :)

Decided to scrap 'working' on the system for tonight and just enjoy what it has to offer. Been browsing my way through the software center. Some nice stuff there, including one of my favorite games; FreeCiv. :)

BTW, until Ubuntu, I had NO idea my system was THIS fast. I feel like I did a hardware upgrade. lol! I run an older FrankenPuter, (built from the bodies of 4 other dead computers) and it's always been sluggish... or so I thought. Turns out there's nothing wrong with the machine itself.

Off to explore some more... :)
