im new to linux and i've found ubuntu to be extremely easy and a joy to use. the free software is superior to microsoft and the community support for problems is amazing.

i hated using windows, particularly all the time i wasted staring at my computer at work while it badgered me about not having a licensed copy, only to have it crash an hour later. in short, none of that software is worth the grief, let alone the hundreds of dollars it costs.

linux is faster, more stable, easier to use and the software fits my needs better than proprietary software ever did. karmic koala just blew me away. i didnt even have to stop browsing the internet while it updated.

i'm not particularly computer-savvy, but ive really enjoyed learning how to program my own computer. i was a little intimidated at first, but i never had a problem that someone had already posted a solution for. thank you all.

Well, you should have been using a licensed copy of Windows. Regardless of whether these anti-piracy laws are retarded or not, they are the law, and you should respect that.

But you've found Linux, and that's always a plus. And, if you run the LiveCD first, you can actually browse the net while you're installing the system.

EDIT: Almost forgot...welcome to the light. :)
