I'm looking to build a new desktop box for Kubuntu, and I want to use it for gaming. The only reason I have Windows installed is for City of Heroes.
I'd like some recommendations for what hardware combinations are least troublesome.
I would also like something fairly quiet.
I'm open on motherboard, sound, and ethernet. Video card is definitely nvidia. I have an ATA drive that may be reused; I am open to going SATA, but it seems thare are issues with certain chipsets. Other than that, it's a clean slate; I won't be reusing any other hardware.
