How about adding a link to the anti-virus thread and the other useful beginner threads? Would ease up some of the threads being posted.

Anti-virus is a non-issue. It isn't needed when running Ubuntu.

All it takes is a quick Google search eg:

ubuntu antivirus

you will get enough links to keep anybody happy.

If you're worried about passing a virus on to Windows users, don't as they should have an av scanner installed.

Huh? That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying links to the threads useful to beginners should be put in the green banner at the top, as several of them seem to be ignoring the stickies.

Everybody seems to ignore the stickies. The green banner is only temporary.

I know, because there's karmic. And because the upgrade, and the attention given by media, it would be a good idea to have a link in there. Just while there's so many newbies.
