run liveusb on a virtalmachine?

as the title says. is this possible?

i have a liveusb i use places here and there, but its a pain to need to edit it when i dont have a spare machine to change sessions, or turning of the machine alltogether.

is it possible to run a virtual-machine from a ubuntu live usb?

I'm also trying do the same.

My desktop is running Karmic with Virtualbox 3. I'm doing most of my stuff on that machine.

For my travels, I've got a liveUSB of Ubuntu 8.04 with Evolution and Email. It sure would nice to run that in virtualbox window but I can boot from the USB stick. My setup is PUEL with standard options.
