Yah so I've had my ipod touch working with virtualbox for a while, but I tried setting up my ipod nano and I can't seem to get it to work.
EVERY SINGLE THING I come across on the internet tells me to add /proc/bus/usb to /etc/fstab/ (then mount -a), but I tried that and it didn't work. Also, I know that can't be the right solution because my Ipod Touch worked (and continues to work) with or without it.
I seem to remember changing a file somewhere, adding the Ipod Touch serial number to a file so the usb passes immediately to virtualbox, skipping the OS. If anyone knows what that was, can you also let me know?
I added the filter under Settings, and it shows up in the USB devices list when the app is running, but the option is grayed out.
Thanks guys!
