Before installing on my physical machine, I am attempting to test several VOIPs on a virtual machine with Virtualbox.
I installed the following via Synaptic:
a) Linphone
b) YATE
I found them in the "Applications" menu and clicked on them. A few small blank screens appeared, as if some program were trying to launch. However, these screens disappeared as quickly as they appeared.
Is it possible that VOIP will not launch within a virtual setting? Or could some other explanation be at work?

- Guest 9.04 (this is what I am working in)
- GDM for both Host and Guest
