recover private/public key passphrase

Hi,

Is there anyway I could recover a passphrase for a private key.

I do have both the private and public keys stored

Unless you have a lot of experience with bruteforce attack -- like john the ripper -- your pretty much done. The only value of the bruteforceattack IMO is if the password is relatively weak. If you are "lucky" enough to have a weak password -- dictionary attack might be of some value. Also it would help if you knew vaguely how long the password was!
