I recently did a clean install of Ubuntu 9.10.
Back in Jaunty, I used to get a approximate remaining time on the battery. However, now, I don't get any such readings. In fact, I dont think the applet is even reading the power consumption properly... any help?

I literally just upgraded to the beta now, my battery charge applet is just gone leaving a hole in the icons where it used to be. It's a little over a day until the stable release, but I need that charge indicator badly.

I've been using 9.10 Netbook Remix since the later alphas. I only see battery life in forms like "Laptop battery discharging (30.7%)" - I do not get any time predictions. In the Power History window, I see that the graphs for "Time to Full" and "Time to Empty" are not populated, but all others are. Graphs about accuracy are at 100% except at the very upper and lower extremes.
Is this similar to your experience? Have you found a cause? It would be nice to have the time prediction back.

I too would like to see the predicted time remaining come back. It was nice to know. What this an apmd thing? Apmd is now not supported by default in the kernel shipped with Karmic.

I'm in the same boat as you. Running Ubuntu Netbook 9.10, and no time predictions available.

Is there a launchpad bug for this?

Same problem here. I used 8.04 for a long time and I could always know how much time could last my laptop battery. Since I changed to 10.04 I haven't seen this information again.
As of with jimbodude21 I can not see any graph in "Time to Full" or "Time to Empty", nor "Rate" in the "History" tab.
