Encrption Key removal

I recently created an encryption key and tested it on some text documents. However, I somehow linked the encryption key to my evolution mail. Now I've forgotten the password, it doesn't provide any hints and as a result I cant access my mail. this is a big problem.

Can I remove the key or relocate the password?

Alas, unless you can locate or remember the passphrase to unlock it, anything encrypted is just gibberish.

Next time create an escrowed or exported unencrypted copy of the private key somewhere safe?
