I'm playing my audio source (mp3 or other) with Movie Player (Totem) and great quality. Then I try to record clips using Audacity the mp3 saved by Audiacity is of very poor quality.

Ok, I know I must be overlooking something very simple.

I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 and the laptop is a Dell Mini 10v.

Thanks for any help

Jim

Go to edit then chose preferences (I think you can use ctrl + p as a shortcut). Then you can edit things such as number of channels, sample rate, sample format, mp3 bit rate to export to and so on and so forth. Just start playing with the settings until you get something that works well for you and has the quality you want. Hope this helps out.

Thanks, this suggestion has shown I have another problem here. Have a look at the attached screenshot.

I can change settings, I did try, but see bottom right side? Only a choice of X Ca...... I assume, this is cancel. No Save button... what the?
