Did you try Alt-Enter? I don't have it installed right now, but that's pretty standard for switching between full screen and windowed.

Tell you what...you find me a link that actually works to download, and I'll find out how to window-mode it for you. lol. I've been looking everywhere, playdeb fails every time I try to install it, and for some reason I can't get any of the website links to work for me. :(

Try to start it in terminal with the following command:
blenderplayer -w /usr/share/yofrankie-bge/levels/start_menu.blend
