So, I downloaded 9.10 live CD, and also the Karmic-alternate (from the Ubuntu Studio page.
I am pretty certain I don't want to install the plain jane version of Ubuntu 9.10, as I've grown accustomed to Ubuntu Studio.
My question:
How would I go about using the Karmic-alternate disc to update my Ubuntu Studio 9.04?
Curious.
Thanks.

Ok, I inserted the upgrade cd, the upgrade process presented itself, and I accepted. However, towards the end of the process, when I should be approaching completion, I received an error message that Ubuntu could not fetch the upgrade candidate, original state being restored.
I had clicked the option that allows the upgrade process to access the internet for the latest files. I think I'll try again without accepting that option to see what happens.
Any advice would be appreciated.
I'd rather not start a clean install which would mean that I have to re-install all my aps (Gimp 2.7.1, etc.)

Tried again with no internet option checked. Below is the text of the error messages I receive. Can anyone offer guidance?
Thanks.
