Hi all,
Well, I just installed Ubuntu for the first time yesterday and I'm sorry to report that everything worked absolutely perfectly. Right down to detecting my home network and internet...
I even quite like the brown desktop... ;)
Anyway, look forward to contributing something more meaningful at some point...!
Cheers
Domzo.

Welcome, domzo :). Nice to hear it worked perfect for you
Though you might check http://ubuntuguide.org/index.html for stuff and other stuff afterwards, there some good tips'n'tricks there.

Thanks Artificial Intelligence - looks like some good documentation there.. The update/upgrade stuff looks really cool. I've not used app-get before either and that looks very handy.
Now if only I wasn't at work now... :)

The How-To section of this forum is another good place to check out http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=15
And if you're a GNU/Linux newbie (sorry if I assumed wrongly):

Thanks for the pointers :)
I can just about find my way round a command line, but I'm no expert.
