Sometimes it can help if you reword your question, or maybe give some more info for people to work with.
And bumping (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bump_%28Internet%29) can help too.

I have checked your last couple of questions but just don't know the answers, sorry about that :(

I had a look at some of the questions you posted, and suspect that some of the other forum users are in the same position as myself: I can't think of anything useful to say!

Good luck.

think most of us would like to help if we can, but often some questions require certain combinations of hardware and software and the experience that flows from that.. so we get stumped too

When I looked at the threads you have begun, you have had a response on most of them.

It would help if you begin with a question, then provide background info. In some posts, I can't figure out what you are asking. Instead of "please help," ask, "why is such-and-such happening."

You also use unusual software. For example, many people could provide answers about Virtualbox, but you use Zen.

Many of your questions can probably be answered by searching mailing lists for the specific technology you are using. When I have questions as specific as many of yours are I begin by reading the man-pages and the mailing lists.

A glance at the first page of your comment history did not reveal any questions that I could help you with short of downloading the packages and reading the documentation.

If no one on UF posts back, you can't find the info in mailing lists or help resources, and you continue to have unresolved issues, then you can usually find support on IRC channels. Just be aware that the people hanging out on IRC channels may be the actual developers or maintainers, and they usually expect that you have read the docs before showing up to ask questions.

Please remember also that you could easily become a community resource for answers to these questions you have posted. UF and other community sites have Tutorials written by community members who wanted to assemble the things they discovered while installing/configuring/using packages so that others could have a shorter learning curve. If you are not able to answer your questions with a google search or UF post, then you may have a topic that needs to be better documented for the community.

Best of luck.

I moved several threads to the forums that they should get some help on, as per the pm.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all your help and suggestions

What i was able to grasp was that i should start with a proper question and then state background info and if no replies then move over to mailing lists and documentation and if i found an answer report back(i added the last part)and if no success then move over to IRC
(Ive tried IRC a few times and wasnt really able to get on with it)
And maybe use some common software :)

Thanks

I hate IRC, never could handle it.
Google, standard documentation and these forums should be more then enough to get the support you need.
