I have a setup here at my house, and all works well.
I'm thinking of putting a second setup in a friend's house who lives in another state. As we all know, residential connections are not the best, no the fastest.
Ideally I'd like to be able to watch channels (SD only) from my friend's machine, and allow him to watch my channel. Realizing that is probably not possible, the next best thing would be for me to record shows on his machine and have them rsync'ed to my machine so I can watch them.
Shooting for ideas at this point - has anyone else done/attempted anything similar or have suggestions?

No. Nor do we condone breaking the law.

:EDIT:

My suggestion would be to either subscribe to cable, or get an OTA antenna.
