Let me know what you think and if you get it to work in Ubuntu. I'll be trying it when I get home from the office tonight and I'll let you guys know how it works.

Has anybody had any luck with this?
I've had it running twice and both times, after an hour or so of running fine, the client has terninated with this:

SIGSEGV: segmentation violationStack trace (4 frames):
./boinc[0x8087046]
[0xffffe420]
./boinc[0x807afd1]
[0x31303735]

I think this has something to do with memory use but am not sure. Any ideas?

climateprediction.net has been around for a while, its a very worth cause but i wouldn't recomend running it unless you have a nice ammount of ram and a gig (or few) hd space to spare. it'll also be running for months without any real result, some people have even reported it taking as long as a year.

id recomend checking out the BOINC (http://boinc.berkeley.edu/) website for other projects lijke this that use your spare computer power to forward sciance and help the world out (it could do with some help).

allthough don't sign up for seti, its pritty pointless ;)
