Steam crashes immediately with Wine

I've been tinkering with wine for the past hour or so, trying to figure some stuff out. I managed to get the steam install running, and it looked as though it worked. But when I try to run steam from its directory, a window opens for a second then closes again. Got any ideas as to what the problem might be?

Try running fromt he command line and see if it throws any errors.
