i had a post in general but thats solved (forgot to tell wine that my virtual drive is my only cd drive)

but new problem, and i hope you wine guru's and solve this, cuz it should be solvable

i'm running an Eee PC Asus 1000ha
1.6gH intel atom
1G DDR2
Intel GMA 950 on-board graphics (obviously lol)

yesh, pretty much standard Netbook

so starcraft ran flawlessly on windows XP (forgive my slander :-p) but in WINE it's all glitchy . .. like 10fps or lower glitchy

so . . . ideas friends? please don't tell me that WINE can't handle starcraft on a NetBook!(i would be sad)

oh, and yes i am eagerly waiting Stargus to be complete

As of now there really isn't much you can do. Its a limitation of the intel drivers on Jaunty mostly. Hopefully we will see some improvement in Karmic (better intel drivers hehehe) but for now it just runs slow. :/

I have an EEE 900A and Starcraft runs kinda choppy but it is playable on Jaunty. If I find time this weekend I'll try loading it up on my new Karmic install and see how it fairs.

If you want to play Starcraft on Ubuntu - install Ubuntu 8.04. There are no 3D acceleration on Ubuntu 9.04 for Intel GMA 950.

Karmic graphics works much better, even tetris is not laging with Intel 945G . So just try it. But Karmic has some big problems right now with MSI Wind U100.
