Hi,

I guess a lot of new Linux User are intrested in get Musik Maker running, although LMMS is a great Tool. But it is very tricky to setup VST in a running Gnome Ubuntu.

That's my Problem. I got Gnome Ubuntu without a realtime Kernel. I use LMMS without VST support by now. I bought MM15 because the possibility to get a very fast scribble of what I'm humming. That was my Windows Time, now, i don't use it any more. Whatsoever.

I've looked a little bit closer and I guess the Problem with MM15 to get it startet is the CopyProtection. Of course I got the orgiginal DVD, but MM15 couldn't get access through Wine. This is the bad news.

Maybe someone has a little more knowledge about Devices and Copyprotection? I've tryed to install MM15 through virtualBox with, I guess, the same result. Because of the limited access to the Hardware it seems not possible to authorize the DVD in MM15.

Any suggestions might be usefull.
But, please no cracks, I want to register myself again to get updates and support!

For those who might stumble about this Thread.

I found out, that it is possible to run Magix Musik Maker on Sun VirtualBox an WXP SP2.

By now, I have a soundproblem.
Samples are crackling, and vst synths playing double.
I hope that I'll find a working Program Configuration.

The actual Sun VirtualBox could find the original DVD if you configure your CD/DVD Rom to Passthrough.

I'll update if there are further Informations.

It makes no sense to use this software via Wine or Vbox on Linux imho. There are tools to make music on Linux, they are good. Learn how to work with them or use Windows instead.
