Why the interest in bean count, if may ask? I've often wondered, if some placed emphasis on this and why? Based on my understanding, it has limited if any value on the forum beyond that of a minor reward system. forestpixie, please correct me if I'm wrong.

It's been my experience, that many new members are extremely knowledgeable and seem willing to share said knowledge. I've learned that time on forum (post count) doesn't necessarily equate to experience or enhanced social skills. It reminds me of a old worn out sweater I've kept for years. It's an old friend with many memories, but doesn't do much to keep me warm during the winter. :)

Don't know why, but when I first joined the forums, I sometimes associated a high bean count with someone who knows what they are talking about. All it really means is that someone makes a lot of posts, with the associated risk of them spouting "bovine excrement".

quite agree that a high post count does not necessarily mean the person is very experienced. and that includes myself

Sorry, I hope you didn't take any offense. Just my curiosity getting the best of me. I agree with both you & lisati - it can be deceptive.
