This is keeping me from erasing Windows. Anyone know how well it performs in WINE?

Perfectly if you have a decent nVIDIA card.

Hey, you're testing the Karmic Koala beta? Is this the version you're using?

I do want to try the beta, though, although after 9.10 I'm probably going to stick to the testing of only LTS versions and using them, but for now, 9.10 will do. I already burned the CD anyways.

Yeah, SPORE's pretty fun in Wine. Seems to have improved speed, too, compared to running it on Windows. It might just be that my friend was running it on Vista, though. We already have more than 50 percent of programs working (not sure the exact percentage, but I know it's the majority of programs), and unless there are a lot of regressions, it'll only get better and more useful.

SPORE actually doesn't get boring. It's kinda' like The Sims +.

Good. I believe I've read that iTunes can be used in WINE, is this correct? If SPORE functions, then, well, don't need to worry about Windows, period.

It's slower in WINE.

Shouldn't be a big problem here, got 3 gigs of ram.

It's not so much RAM as it is GPU grunt. I have a bit more RAM than you and If I try to run anything through WINE on the integrated GeForce it chokes compared to Vista.

Hey, does anyone know if the cheat box works in this? Alternatively, http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1299249
