View Full Version : Great Login Theme - Why doesn't it match Gnome?

Ok, I may be in the minority here, but I think the new login theme for Karmic Koala is amazing. I love the white cursor on (dark chocolate?) black and that smooth (columbian?) brown is simply soothing. I've logged out several times, just to see this sweetness.

Then I log in. Ugh. The default wallpaper is some kind of burnt orange wheat-field. Nasty. The menubars (top and bottom) are okay, but can't we do better?

Can someone point me (although I'd love a default theme) to a theme that is based on the login screen? Okay, maybe not a default, but at least one that's included.

I'm not much of an artist, but a system theme based on that login screen would be mind-blowing.

Thoughts anyone?

- oh, and I've seen the proposed 'user-generated' themes in some of the blogs. One is close, but does not have quite the same appeal as the login screen. To whoever designed it, I am impressed!

Actually, it has a gtk-theme of it's own it uses.
It's not the prettiest or most functional in my opinion, but if you want to give it a shot go to the appearance window, under themes, hit customize,
for controls go to Human-Login, then do the same for Window Border.

Awesome.

I changed one of the other text fields to white. You are right. Its almost "too dark" but it's a neat change of pace.

Thanks for the help.
