I am new to Sound Creation software and have minimal experience in how to use such programs. I used to use Cubase on an old machine and was beginning to get the hang of it, through the use of youtube video tutorials. Unfortunately ive had to switch to a Linux based OS. Ive downloaded Rosegarden and am hoping to learn how to use the program on a basic level.

I cant find any video tutorials for this program and the only good tutorial i have found is from the Rosegarden official site, but the details in the tutorial assume a familiarity with sound creation software.

Are there any beginners tutorials for Rosegarden, or other sound creation programs which would be useful to start to learn the basics.

Thanks
Steve

The best way to start using Rosegarden is to try it yourself.

About a year ago, I've never used Rosegarden before, but I figured it out how to add tracks and create a block of musical notes myself.

It takes practice just to do it in your own. I'll get back to you as soon as I get back from college unless someone chimes in.

Later.

Update of My Post
-----------------------------------------------

I know you looked at the tutorials, but have you looked through the Rosegarden Free Companion (http://www.rosegardenmusic.com/tutorials/en/chapter-0.html)?

Once you add tracks to your project, you need to add a segment to your track. Just make sure you setup your hardware before you begin to work with your project.

I hope this helps.
