I am fed up with running windows for the single purpose of running WOW. I have read alot of threads about wine and not to many for cedega.

My question is which method works better from expirience?

If you could that would be awesome... also i have dual monitors and am wondering how "alt-Tab" would work if at all?

Do you have any complaints about it running in linux? also what about windowed mode... is that possible?

I personally use wine. After trying Cedega TimeDemo I was very unhappy with the results. I could not get Cedega to work with WoW and then they were wanting me to pay for it too. No thank you!

I did have quite a few problems with installing wine to work with WoW. But following the instructions in this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=120615) will get you 95% of the way there. The one thing that they didn't explain was that you need to apt-get the dev files for opengl support for you video card prior to compiling wine the first time. After I found that information and played some with config settings everything was working great. I for one can't imagine paying some other company $55 a year for something that took me maybe 3 hours to fix myself.

The only issue I have is a mouse bug which has two fixes http://transgaming.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3149

Well what I've gotten out of WoW/Wine so far...

P3 1000
512 mb ram
Gf3 64

Under Breezy + wine 0.9.7 + OpenGL-Dev is getting me faster load times and better Frame rates then he same Machine with win2K.

Anyway I'm debating the Dropping of winXP for Breezy on my Gaming box, I'll have to try a few more games on my breezy box before I make the perminant switch.:-D
