Yahoo IM on website

before i swapped to ubuntu, yahoo IM used to work from yahoo.com, but after the swap, it doesnt work anymore, can anyone give me some advice as to what might be wrong??? i have flash downloaded, i think....if you could just give me the apps to download, if any, that woul be great.

EDIT: im using a Nokia N73 PAYG phone modem, with a filter, standalone IM doesnt work, never has, only the online one works...

Does the yahoo messenger on yahoo.com require flash? If so how did you install flash?

Also have you tried - meebo.com - I know it supports yahoo messenger and does not require flash.

i installed via sudo get apt install.....but i have several flash things in my firefox plugins....maybe a deletion and reload of FF will solve that issue, and due to my ISP filter, meebo is filtered..

Ahh alrighty - yes try removing flash. And when you reinstall it be sure to install the "nonfree" version from the repos as it does give the best performance.
