hi, who knows a chessgame that just works without configuring and downloading from servers for long ( and where i could configure the time the computer has for a move, I dont want to wait for long like in other games)
thanks
i dont get knights to work.....\\:D/

*bump*

What about Knights didn't work? Would the program not load? My problem was that I had originally forgotten to install a chess engine so that I would have an AI opponent to play against...

I don't know much but would be more than willing to lend my two cents worth.

I'm not too sure, but you could try gnuchess or xboard. There is also eboard, you can get it at http://eboard.sourceforge.net/

i would consider crafty to be a better chess engine than gnuchess, but they have different 'personalities'. crafty is more aggressive and tactical whereas gnuchess is more positional.

my 2 quid.
