I have been looking at the work posted over at Ubuntu Gamers Arena (http://gwos.org/doku.php/) with an eye toward possibly becoming involved (no ads, community supported)...

UGA members are posting screenshots, reviews, notes on emulation and installation etc... There is a section with links to other Linux gaming blogs/resources, there is an effort to get Ubuntu game night off the ground. The group seems to be aiming for more than just informational web-pages which is where my question comes in.

So my poll question is whether or not the types of resources UGA has already put together make it a relevant community hub for Linux gamers?

Posters that have the time might take a look and recommend any essential resources missing from the site that a new volunteer should focus on. Are there other gaming resources that should be linked from the site? Any feedback will help.

Thanks.

My opinion might be a bit biased, as I'm involved (I "maintain" the wiki"), but I think our resources are quite relevant, we have a description of most games that run natively on Linux, including screenshots and video, we're currently working on adding an "information" tab to all games, which will include requirements etc.

When I look for a game to play on Linux, I use UGA. And through UGA I've found several games worth playing. And if I'm looking at a multiplayer game, and want to find people to play it with, I usually succeed through the UGN channel on Freenode (Ubuntu Game Night channel, where a lot of Ubuntu gamers hang out).

If even more Ubuntu gamers (well, all kind of Linux gamers) were to join this "community", it'd be a marvelous resource.

Thanks for the response. I didn't hear much about it until I joined IRC... which is what motivated this question to the forum community.

Whenever I'm interested in a particular Linux game, or just want to see what's happening in that department, I checkout UGA.

It's a terrific resource.
