I upgraded a test bed to 9 10 today, and noticed this ubuntu one lark forced upon me,

Would it not have been better to ask me if I want to install it? Am also not keen on this pidgin etc being installed and built in to my status bars 'by default'

Whats everyone else's thoughts on this?

Voted no, Ubuntu is getting too bloated.

Puppy 4.3 is pretty small.

I don't have a problem with the default installation of Ubuntu One. It's a cool service and I really like it, so I would have installed this anyways.

I think Ubuntu is just fine the way it is. I am trying to introduce it to others that may be less computer savvy. The less effort required for them to get features is a plus. For the rest of us, we can remove what parts we don't want. That's the great thing about Ubuntu and the other distros. Everyone already knows up front, that Ubuntu is set for ease of use. It is not created to be a slim power distro.

Lol, the iso has gotten smaller in recent releases.
"Bloat" is the worst reason for not adding a package, because people will call anything they don't like bloated. Seriously, if a few mb bothers you, perhaps you should buy a bigger hard-drive.

Voted yes. U1 is an awesome idea, can't wait to see what kinds of features will be intergrated in the future. Google Sync maybe?
