Tethering through wine

Has anyone else tried getting the windows application iPhone Modem to run in Wine in order to tether a jailbroken iPhone to an ubuntu machine. I've been trying to and get get it working , does anyone know if this is possible, or if not is there a way to tether an iphone to my ubuntu netbook(full ubuntu 9.04 not the netbook remix)?

Folks on the internet seem to report good results from using Blueman (http://blueman-project.org/) to tether an iPhone to Ubuntu over Bluetooth.

wine is very rarely the correct solution, rather, think of it as a last resource.

Try connecting trough bluetooth. The most popular one is blueman, but there are others:
