hi i am using 9.04 now and i want to know whether upgrading to 9.10 when it will come out, going to effect my settings like....
1. compiz setting.
2. nvidea driver.
3. chrome update manager(now i can update via update manager) and chrome data.
4. themes settings & Icon sets.
5. Vlc and many more other software which may or may not be the part of ubuntu...

thanks..

I don't think that your compiz config will be messed up. But, you can always save the compiz settings to a file.

Your driver for nvidia should be fine, as long as ubuntu automatically installed it in 9.04

Themes and icons remain untouched as far as I know. You might just have to re-apply them.

Vlc and most of your software will be fine as long as its software that is not outdated.

I'm not sure what is chrome updater so I can't comment on that.

They do try and make it as smooth as possible. but it will most likely modify/adjust those configs. its a new nvidia driver etc etc. Just like any other upgrade. Back your stuff up before hand.
