Hello, I'm new here and to ubuntu. I'm going to install ubuntu!... and to have Windows and ubuntu both installed in my system until i get comfortable with ubuntu.
I have never used ubuntu.
Now I'm preparing my PC for ubuntu.
First question. Long story short, my PC was installed with Windows XP and partitioned this way:
C: 68 GB (Windows installed)
D: 59 GB
and 337 GB of unallocated space.
I've been watching some videos and it says ubuntu should be installed on the same drive as Windows. In this case, how much space should i leave for Windows and how much space for ubuntu? After I format my unallocated drive to E:, can ubuntu still make use of this space? (stupid question?)
Also, i've only been watching videos in which ubuntu installed on Vista, which allows you to shrink the drive, and XP doesn't. So how would i install it? Forgive my ignorance. Any help would be appreciated.
