The latest WINE update (Version: 1.1.31~winehq0~ubuntu~9.04-0ubuntu1
, Ubuntu MOTU Developers) pushed last week is a disaster in terms of speed for the only windows program I use, SilkyPix, a RAW image processing program. It's now so slow I can see all the icons being drawn one after the other.

Suggestions besides learning to use ufraw/dcraw/rawstudio ?

Do you mean to say it was working on an earlier version of Wine? If so, you should post over on http://forum.winehq.org - if there is a download of silkypix (demo or something) that shows the problem, include a link. It can probably be fixed.
