Hi guys (and gals)...

I recently installed k9copy and am having an issue running it. It starts the ripping process and once it gets to the end of the menus, the computer just shuts down...what's going on here?

It's installed in Gloria (mint)...i already have libdvdread4 and libdvdcss2 installed...

I also get a signal 11 error in the k9copy main program. The shutdown happens in the assistant.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

I posted this here because I know Mint is a derivative of Ubuntu...I'm assuming these types of issues would be across the board

I have tried several of the ripping programs in the repos, and the best by far IMHO is DVD::rip (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DVD::Rip)

I haven't tried K9copy, but for copying dvds K3b is great and works flawless once all dipendences have bees satisfied (the first time you run k3b it will tell you what is found and what is not)

Thanks for the reply Bruno! I know this is a stupid question, but will it copy copyrighted dvds? I like to keep the originals in their case and use my back-up copies around the house...little kids love DVDs, lol.

It shouldn't be a problem to copy dvds once LibDVDCSS is installed, but I really think k3b should be your choice.

On the other hand, if you can't get it to work, you may consider ripping the DVD and make Divx copies
