You mean:

Linux eniac 2.6.31-12-generic #41-Ubuntu SMP Wed Oct 7 18:42:46 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux

Wait till Oct 29th and you will have it once you upgrade to Karmic.

Fine, just that I am impatient.

When DHL had my Windows 7 DVDs, I was tracking it every inch of the way here. Got them Friday, so I spent all day installing it. Then more of today to finish. Yuck, but at least its done.

Just wanted to keep the Linux machine as happy.

It's hiding in plain sight, right here (http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.31.3/). This is the third release. It doesn't play nicely with previous versions of Ubuntu, though, and it won't boot at all on my Asus EEE-PC 900. I think there are tweaks that can be done to get it working, but it's more trouble than it's worth, IMO. 2.6.30 works very well for me.

Sounds like a few kinks remain. I was going to see of the release will work in Virtual PC that Microsoft has for Windows.

If I could get it to work, then I can dump the IBM finally.

So far, the IBM still has a job. Now I use it as a file server as well as web gizmo.

I would suggest using virtualbox to try Koala in a vm on Windows 7. It is a free download available here (http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads).
