Alright I have a few questions, hopefully that maybe have answers I have not yet found. I have noticed some of my commercial games I purchased a while back have linux support (IE Unreal Tournament 2K4, Neverwinter Nights: Diamond).
I was curious if there is a full list that has been compiled of commercial games that have linux support? I am looking for stuff that runs natively through linux (not thru WINE or other emulation software).
Also, I noticed in my reading this morning that there some of the support for commercial games is either due to games becoming Open Source, or a community porting them, one such game I noticed was Freespace 2.
My question, since I don't have Freespace 2, was Freespace: The Great War and it's expansion Silent Threat ever ported in a similar fashion to Freespace 2?
Thank you for any and all advice.

The latest FreeSpaceOpen includes a port of the original FreeSpace as well, although none of it is perfectly "legal" (the source code was open sourced, not the games themselves).
If you're looking for commercial Linux games, the best place to look is Linux Game Publishing (http://www.linuxgamepublishing.com/). Lots of ports of older games in there.

Thank you for the link. I also have another quick question, I have the original Freespace and expansion (picked it up in a weird double game set a few years ago, will that make it legal for me to use the FreeSpace open for the original game? I assumed that I would have to use the discs for the install anyway, or is that not the case?

I could not run the port without having the data from the original game (FreeSpace 2), although I haven't tried the original FreeSpace. It doesn't hurt to try; just install the game with WINE and copy over the install folder. This is how I got the game to run: http://www.linux-gamers.net/modules/wiwimod/index.php?page=HOWTO+Freespace+2+open&back=HOWTO+INDEX+Linux+Games. Supposedly you don't need the game data; I guess they used to make it available before but now that legality issues have been raised they don't. I'm guessing if you simply copy over your game data (after installing it with WINE) to the freespace open folder and install the resources for the original FreeSpace game it should run fine. The java installer is pretty easy to follow and it lets you choose what to install.
Edit: Yes, as long as you have legal access to the original game media you're fine, since at that point you're simply using a mod for a game you already have (Linux port plus all the graphical enhancements).

I have always found this list (http://icculus.org/lgfaq/gamelist.php) helpful for Commercial Games.
