Hi everyone.
I want to build a proxy server for a network of 50 win xps. My first thought was of a smoothwall box with dansguardian addon. It already has IMspector installed which is a requirment (im logging).
My second thought is that an old ibm eserver with ubuntu+squid+imspector+dansguardian should be more user friendly for everyday jobs since webadmin can be installed and make squid acls easy via webgui.
I didn't find any docs about installing webadmin on a smoothwall server, does anyone know something about it?
Which way to go? Any other way to go for web and im proxy and logging and blocking-filtering?
Any other ways of having a webgui for squid in smoothwall?
There is a cisco pix 500 which does firewall/nat for now but as 64vistas multiplay and cisco vpn client doesn't run on 64bit platforms, I am thinking in the future that maybe I should change to openvpn. So pls take under consideration when thinking of my options that maybe in the future this machine may takeup router/firewall role also.
Thank you all in advanced.
