Stickykeys and '>' and '<' pause

I have stickykeys enabled on Mythbuntu 9.04. When I hit FWD on the remote, I get a 30 second fwd and then a pause. Same goes for using the '>' on the keyboard, which I thought was never supposed to pause during a fwd.

Ideas?

This is still happening. I disabled sticky keys, re-enabled them, but no matter what I do, they are never sticky. I get the burst FWD everytime. Is there something i can look up in the logs that would help?
