I just installed Xubuntu Karmic Beta 64-bit, and I added Fluxbox along with other things.
When I run Fluxbox as the window manager, Synaptic will not display anything in its main section. Nothing ever shows up there, even with All.
This does not occur when I'm using Xfce as the window manager.
I might be tempted to just stick with Xfce, but I'm still appalled at discovering that there is no straightforward way to edit the menu. There's no GUI editor, and manual editing is needlessly complex.
Anyway, do you have a suggestion how I can get Synaptic to behave in Fluxbox?
