We all have our little secret games that nobody else likes, but we play them because there's something about them that just appeals to us. What are some games you absolutely love that others don't? They have to be obscure games, too.
Mine would have to be...
1. Goblin Commander (bet you didn't guess that one).
2. Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance
3. The Bard's Tale
CharmyBee

1. Xjump
2. Snake's Revenge
3. Sonic Heroes
p.s. I actually do like Dark Alliance, just wish they didn't tack on an unrelated brand name for it.

1)3 Wonders (Midnight Wanderers, Chariot, Don't Pull) ARCADE
2)Snow Bros (Nick & Tom) ARCADE
3)Mortal Kombat 4 (win32 exe)
Well that's it, I hope not to be off-topic.

Mmm from the good old Xbox days,
1. Sudeki (dang it I feel sad now ~.~)
2. Chrono Trigger (ps1 oh yeah)
thats about it... Around the world these may be known but where I'm from these weren't favourites let alone given a second chance mmm
They just don't make RPG's like they used to...
Makes you feel old doesn't it?

I thought this forum was for Linux games only. I don't know if they're obscure, but I don't think other people liked them. I won't go into details, but they are...
Unreal Tournament 2003 on PC (I thought it wasn't very popular)
Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi: The Genie and the Amp on DS
Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis on GBA
Like CharmyBee, I also like Sonic Heroes.

Super Columbine Massacre RPG
This guy isn't kidding, The game exists. The game is also hard. But its a great game all around.
Most of the games you guys listed are just old, not obscure, they were once popular, but not now. Like baldurs gate, painkiller, fallout 3, postal 2, silent hill, and Runescape.
An obscure game that I like that nobody else likes is
Communist mutants from space, Atari 2600, Space invaders clone
Soldner X:Doppelsoldner, PC, 10$ on Play-asia, RType-like game
and many more.

Well, alot of stuff I played, no one else played because I one of the few PC gamers back in high school, but here is my mini list that I caught hell about for those that did play PC games...:
Sid Meyer's Alpha Centauri
Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay
Psychonauts

Mmm you made this thread on the fedora forums...
A game I like and very few others do is Might and Magic IX. Old-school rpgs and other dos games are particularly fun, and I don't think there's a wide audience for those.

HAHAHA Mine would be 'Nam.' It's an old 1st person shooter that ran on the DOS Doom engine and had terrible graphics and gameplay. Corny story line: US Gov drugs up Alan "the Bear" with some super secret drugs and now he's a super warrior. Run around, shoot pixleated bad guys with crummy weapons.
I don't know why I like it, but I can spend hours on it. I played it back in 1998 when we got our first PC and it was an old $5 game then...
Check it out!

In the Ubuntu repositories, right at the top of Ubuntu Software Center under Games: 20,000 Light Years Into Space. I guess it's a puzzler/strategy game where you have to keep steam flowing into a city via pipes and steam makers. Sounds easy? You also have to deal with the damage caused by earthquakes, storms and alien raids.
You really have to try it to really understand what I'm talking about; it's a game with surprising depth.
The other game I like to play that nobody has heard of is Marathon 2 on the Aleph One engine. Marathon was an FPS from around the same time as Doom, but it's much more advanced than Doom (for instance, you have to aim up and down, your weapons have a second trigger, there's a real storyline, and there's sometimes a bit more of a puzzle aspect and using tactics and the environment to help destroy the baddies).
Aleph One requires you to compile it on Linux, or if you're on Windows you can get a pre-built binary. You also need a scenario. Marathon 2 is my favourite scenario, but Infinity is pretty good too.

Never did finish it or get far in it though. Still the original was just cool and weird (in a good way). 8)

I'm a little surprised that nobody has mentioned Globulation II, which is in the repositories. It's a RTS-ish game with zero micromanaging; you simply indicate on each building how many units you want working on it. Maybe nobody but I like it?

I think everyone likes the games the last few posts mentioned.Maybe between people they know in real life, instead of in general. I'm just guessing.
Seeing how this is a Linux gaming forum, I really like Solar Wolf. It's a simple space ship collect the boxes game, but can get really crazy on higher levels. I guess it's not that popular since I haven't seen it mention often on these forums.

Super Columbine Massacre RPG
How do you play that on Ubuntu, I have found a ColumbineRPG.zip on frostwire. However, the sound lags on XP via virtualbox and wine has doesn't play the midi music at all. Dosbox was my last resort but windows 3.1 complains about a 32-bit binary and windows 95 gets the fatal blue screen of death.
I am at a lost - I have some old crossover/cedega binaries but I haven't brought/updated in a while since wine emulates most things well. Maybe I should try that, also, has anyone ported it so snes because zsnes would be great here?

Wine needs Timidity (apt://timidity) to play midi music.

I have got back into playstation games since pcsx came onto linux.
I'm playing lots of spyro and The Emperors New Groove. Yes it's not just a movie game but a children's movie game. It's a fun adventure game though!

Stonekeep - It's an old DOS-based game that came out like 2 years too late. Had it come out when it was planned it would have floored everyone. But by the time it came out games were looking better and it got passed over by most people. It's incredibly buggy, but it's fun. It plays well in Dosbox.
You can watch some guy play the entire game on Youtube across like 100 videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/Kikoskia#grid/user/29570590B653E2EF

The Settlers 1 (DOS) And every other extremely hard game witch wants you to think not just press buttons and win like all of the new games ... I really think that realistic = hard , but all of the new games enhance the graphics and the details and call this game realistic ... Go and lie the windows users :)

All my faves (which nobody who I knew liked even back in the day) are text based, no graphics.
- Moria (no, not angband, Moria). Adventures in ASCII....
(similar to moria is MacBoss for the Macintosh Plus crowd). Moria is still available, I hear.
- Zork: the underground empire. I can still picture the green monochrome screen....
- Castle, a treasure hunt for DOS.
For me, then comes Solar Winds, the first graphics game I used on the SVGA 80286 DOS PC.... 3 times I downloaded it, and from different servers/BBS'es. That game always ended in me getting lost in the same place... was it only released as a broken game?
