i don't really know how to explain it but i'll try. i'm running some old windows games through wine, particularly Clive Barker's Undying. I have checked the database on the wine site, there was no problems with it from what i understand. i got it installed, and it runs, but the graphics are really fast. i mean that they go too fast. i played the game when i had xp and vista, but it was the normal speed.
the main problem is the graphics and the sound. the sound seems to start one bit of dialogue in the cutscenes before the previous one finishes. is there a way to fix this problem? if so, i could use detailed instructions, as linux is new to me.

You need to give us more info on your computers specifications.

What video graphic hardware do you have?
What driver are you using?

What version of wine are you using?

What version of ubuntu are you using.

well i have the standard graphics card that came with my hp dv6408nr laptop. i know it's nvidia, the stock card that came with the computer, using driver version 180.44. i'm using WINE 1.01, running it through jaunty.
i know that the video hardware is able to run the game, because i've played it on this machine before, though it was running vista at the time.
