Hi all,

I'm new to the whole Linux operating system and in my ignorance thought i could use it to surf internet whilst comutting. The plan was get this Mini 10 for £200 and plug in my n95 8gb and surf interent. Only to find that nokia dont support ubuntu / linux, and looking round seems to be alot of people moaning about it with some very strange answers to working around PC suite via the command editor? I really need some simple step by step guide as at the moment it looks like i'm going to have to learn the whole operating system, to learn this other command line method, help?

Also i have tried to update it, but it wants an administrator password which i have not got as it did not ask me for one when i first turned it on, arggghhh.

In desparation i did try to wipe it and install windows xp but i could not get it to recognise an external dvd rom or usb stick with the xp boot disk in it ( i can hear people spitting as i wrote this, sorry)

Any help would be great!

Hi gignwah11,

There is a step by step tutorial on how to change your root (administrator) password in Ubuntu. It can be found here:
http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/resetpassword

As for your Nokia N95, I have not used this myself, but there are a few tutorials available on how to set this up. There are also guides to setup the phone to link via Bluetooth. One such tutorial is available here:
http://www.serenux.com/2008/11/howto-setup-your-nokia-n95-mobile-phone-as-a-mobile-broadband-device-in-ubuntu-intrepid/

Hope this helps, don't give up on Ubuntu yet!
