Hi,

I've recently installed Ubuntu Studio 9.04, at first triple booting with Windows XP x64, and Ubuntu 9.04 x64, But it froze up while installing a package.

I decided that I didn't really need Ubuntu 9.04 at that point and reinstalled Studio as dualbooting with XP.

Then when I booted up, nothing responds. It seems that the computer "disconnected" my mouse and keyboard as the num lock and other lights do not work.

EDIT: The mouse and keyboard only lock up once ubuntu studio login screen appears. They work (the keyboard at least) during the boot sequence, grub and other pre-os states. Windows XP also boots without a hitch.

Reinstalling studio does not work, produces the same problem every time.

Pressing (not holding) the Power button still gives me a soft/safe shutdown however.

Anyone willing to help?

I'm a noob, but I've heard rumors that the USB drivers can be a problem during install sometimes. Have you tried a PS/2 keyboard or mouse? I know some motherboards don't even have those ports anymore, but it's just a thought.
Best of luck!

Ok, will try on my older computer with PS/2 ports.

Posting again when complete.

Tried, and failed. Fixed by installing from existing Ubuntu installation.

UbuStu disk installation fixed with 9.10.

Sounds like a classic Jaunty RT kernel problem. Glad Karmic is working for you!
