I was using JDSecure program, It is a lexar jump drive that supports a secure and a public partition. In order to access the secure area you must run a program called lxr_jds_31 as sudo. This brings up a gui which will unmount the drive and remount it using its operations. Then asks for password to mount the secure partition on the thumb drive. Well it mounted and all and I unmounted both the public and secure partition before i closed out but now i cant get anything to automount not even the lexar jump drive that caused this problem. I assume it has altered some file, setting, or stopped a background process and now i can not get anything to automount.
I have already tried rebooting, that didn't work.
I tried reinstalling Hal, that didn't work.
I looked for unchecked services (i couldnt find one that was for auto mounting or auto volume anything)
and I have extended my google search as far as I can with my current knowledge of the system.
Additional information:
Devices still show up in /dev as /dev/sdb and /dev/sdb1 but i do not get the nice user friendly desktop link nor do i get the link in the [Places] menu.
I'm fairly new to ubuntu but i am competent in terminal, i just don't know all the commands or where all the tricks are hidden. I do not suggest anyone use this flash drive but i would like to get this problem fixed. Hope this is enough information and that i get a response soon.
Thanks!
