On boot I get a message similar to:
Radeonfb 00... Invalid ROM contents
After I log in it goes to a black screen, shows the pointer but never shows the desktop. I can get to a console (ctrl + alt + f1) but I have been unable to find a configuration, or solution to get my desktop to show.
Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I just upgraded to 9.04 and this is the result. I have tried everything I can think of to no avail. Ideas?

OK, this appears to be related to the default GNOME session. If I log in to failsafe GNOME session it logs in and brings up the desktop just fine. When I select GNOME session, black screen and mouse pointer but nothing else. Anyone have any idea what might be up with that? I have no ideas whatsoever.

Maybe the download was corrupt.

I don't think the download was corrupt. I am thinking that something did not get upgraded correctly. When I log in using safe mode and look for updates none are found. I also tried using the cleanup tool to find/fix problems but that didn't help anything. I am starting to think that the only resolution will be to reset the default gnome session by deleting it's configuration.
