Hey all,
I'm on Jaunty, and was having the static in the left speaker problem that other people have described. I tried following a few solutions found in the forums, but I ended up losing my sound altogether! My sound driver is supposed to be snd-hda-intel, but it's not seeing it.
I've tried to reinstall alsa as per the Ultimate Sound Problems Thread (or whatever it was called!) but archive.ubuntu.com seems to be down for synaptic.
I'm not a total newbie, so I should be able to fix this, but I just need some help!
