Hi everybody.
I have a Dell studio xps 1340 laptop.
when I'm in windows Vista on power saver mode, with lowest brightness of monitor and back light keyboard off and wireless on,
I have 4 hours and 30 minute of battery life.
but on ubuntu with the same parameters I only have 2 hours and 30 minutes of battery life!!
what's the problem?
Is there any power saving program on ubuntu like in as well as windows?
Thanks a lot.

I've seen the same messages on the Studio series. I haven't actually tested how long the batteries last. I'm curious if anyone has?

I think it depends on my graphic card.
in ubuntu I think the graphic card never goes to sleep!

I don't know about the new versions but the previous solution was to create power scripts that you create and execute during battery use. It's a pretty lame solution. The scripts did things like change the clock of your vid card, under clock you proc, etc.
